“I Give Up!” 3 Ways to turn things around when you want to quit

“Breakdowns can create breakthroughs. Things fall apart so things can fall together.”

One of the things that surprised me when I really committed to growing my Holistic Business was how intense things could get at times.  My inner fears were intense and things on the outer level of my life would become intense too, for example my basement flooding, getting a flat tire, family members going through hard times, crazy technical issues.  It would be so intense at times that I would have a thought flash “I want to give up—this is too hard.”

Because of this,  when I went to launch the Global Association of Holistic Psychotherapy I was smart enough to know that my feeling of wanting to “give up” was probably going to come roaring to the surface as soon as my intense fears got activated.  I decided the ONLY way I wasn’t going to throw in the towel was to invest in a high level coaching program that had an investment amount of 6-Figures. (yes, you read that correctly).  I needed that big of a commitment from myself to stay the course and I believe firmly to this day if I didn’t invest at that level I would have probably found a way to quit.

When you are Spiritual Leader, meaning you are a Therapist, Healer or Coach with a Mission to transform the Planet with your healing, the fears that can get activated as you move to align with your Mission can be pretty intense.  Because of my own personal experiences and having coached LOTS of Therapists, Healers and Coaches I now know the terrain and how to navigate through these bumpy times so you can stay on track and fulfill your Mission.

Here are my 3 Top Tips to Turn things around when you want to Quit

#1. Realize the challenge you’re facing is oftentimes just a manifestation of your fear.  This is what I have learned from my own experience and the experience of my clients.  Oftentimes their biggest fears start to out picture in their life and this creates challenges.  Once they get that they are creating it through their fears, then they do the inner healing to clean it up and lo and behold the outer situation gets cleared up!

#2. Realize the challenge is a way for your Higher Self to prepare you for your big Vision in your Business.  Sometimes the challenge is being brought forward for you to develop inner qualities that will be useful to you in being able to complete your highest Vision for your business.  Let’s say you are going to be a leader for helping your clients with Money issues — you may have your own money issues to clear yourself so then you will be able to help them.  Or let’s say you are going to need to have leadership skills, you may have to deal with a challenge that brings forth these skills within you.

#3. Remember your Spiritual Support Team. You are not alone in building your Holistic Business.  You have a team of support surrounding and supporting you every step of the way.  I know sometimes you can feel VERY alone, but see if you can release your fears, quiet your mind and tune into what is supporting you right now.  I love Wayne Dyer’s quote “If you knew who walked beside you, you would never be afraid.”

Bonus Tip:

#4. The more intense your fears and the challenges you are facing, the bigger your Mission is on the Planet.  I know this can be a strange kind of comfort.  When I was going through one of the most challenging and intense times in my business I had a good friend say “Wow Shelley you must be up to something REALLY big on the Planet if you are getting that much push back!”  This was comforting to me and helped me put everything that was going on in the proper context.  So next time things get challenging for you say to yourself “I must be up to something REALLY big if I am having to deal with all of these challenges.”

Bottom line the only way you will NOT succeed in our Holistic Business is if you quit.  And I would not want the world to miss out on the unique Spiritual Gifts that you have come to share!

Wow, this says it all about my journey, from two horrific accidents, one involving a deer while I was driving my vehicle (which resulted into what I view as a near death experience)and the other a dog attack while I was riding my horse, to neighbors who oppose my counseling of children, have propelled me deeper into my mission. Thank you for confirming what I felt was guiding me…
