More Confidence=More Clients (5 Ways to Boost Your Confidence NOW)

“If you are going to doubt something, doubt your limits.”  Don Ward

I remember in the early days of training to be a Therapist I was SO nervous in each session.  I remember I would be talking to a client at my Practicum site and they would be talking about a situation and I would think to myself “I have no earthly idea what to say to them!”.

What was happening is my own nervousness was blocking the flow of information from my own training and my own intuition.  What I would do in those moments when I “froze” was to actually pray for guidance and support about what to say.  It was in that moment of connecting spiritually that I would relax and it would help me be in the flow of connecting with the person and what to say would easily pop into my head.

It was my experience of doing this over and over again that helped me to release any nervousness and be in complete trust and confidence about what was happening in the session.  The more I did this the better results my clients would get and this would increase my confidence in myself PLUS my clients were happily referring people to me too.

Then when potential new clients would call I would be confident that the results that they were seeking I could support them to achieve.  They would hear it in my voice and would schedule with me.  It was from this experience and coaching my business building clients to do the same that I see over and over again the power of confidence in building your Holistic Business.  Here are some other things I did (and still do) to boost my Confidence.

Here are 5 Ways to Boost Your Confidence and Attract more Clients

  1.   Get that even if you are a Beginner you have a tremendous amount to offer your Clients.  Don’t let the fact that you are just starting out put the lid on your confidence.  I believe that we as Spiritual beings have a reservoir of knowledge and wisdom that goes beyond our current level of training and experience.  Trust in this, believe in this and tap into this.
  2. Keep a “I am a Fabulous Therapist, Healer, Coach or Health Practitioner” Journal– Write down  every time a client thanks you, emails you sends you a card—write it in this journal.  Affirm throughout the day “I am a Fabulous Therapist, Coach or Healer and my clients get amazing results from working with me.”
  3. Write Down the Great Results Your clients are getting from Working with You—the little things as well as well as the big things.  Make it a practice to celebrate these successes in your sessions with clients.  What gets focused on gets amplified so make sure you keep your focus on the Success you are helping your clients create.
  4. Bust Your Inner Critic-Your Conditioned Self is very adept at all forms of self-criticism.  Remember your Conditioned Self wants you to stay the same and not make any changes so you can stay safe (which is really not safe at all).  It knows that when you have Self-Confidence you are more likely to take risks to grow even more.   So if you don’t consciously work with your Inner Critic it is going to try to punch holes in your Self-Confidence at every turn with attacks like “You don’t know what you are doing.”  “Wow you really messed that up”  “I don’t think you are cut out for this” “So and So is so much better at this than you”. You need to set an inner boundary with your Inner Critic and put a stop to this Inner Attack as soon as you feel a drop in your Confidence. You say to this part of you “I know you are trying to keep my safe my saying these things to me but they are hurtful and SO untrue—so I am not going to let you say those things to me anymore.” Instead give yourself positive, supportive statements to replace the nonsense of your Inner Critic.
  5. Make a Decision to be Confident  Your Confidence level is really an inner decision and is completely in your hands.  Why not decide to believe in yourself and be confident NOW even though you are: A beginner, make mistakes, still have more to learn, don’t have the success level you want yet, no one is noticing you etc.  It is an opportunity to develop unshakable confidence that does not get blown by outer events or other people’s opinions of you.  Affirm I Believe in me NOW.
