Are You Willing to Do What It Takes to Live Your Dreams?

“Many of life’s failures are people who simply did not realize just how close they were to SUCCESS when they gave up.” ~ Thomas Edison

What are you willing to do for your deepest dreams? After assisting 100’s of people to find and align with their Life Purpose AND coaching people to develop Holistic Practices of their dreams–I have recognized one of the key elements of their success is that they are willing to do whatever it takes to reach their dreams.

I remember when I talked to my intellectual property attorney after I had launched the Global Association of Holistic Psychotherapy. He said to me, “Of all of the people I talk to all day long about their amazing ideas and dreams ONLY 10% of them actually take action and make the dream a reality like you did. Congratulations!”

They are willing to (and these are real examples):

  • Move to a different country to study with a Mentor
  • Travel across the country to attend a Workshop they know will make a difference in clearing their blocks to success and learning the information they need to learn to grow their business
  • Work long hours for a period of time while they transition into their Practice Full time or start their Practice
  • Invest a large amount (6 Figures) in working with a Mentor that will outline the roadmap to creating success and to accelerate their results
  • Say NO to opportunities that will distract them from their TRUE purpose
  • Take big risks to live their dreams–even if they are TERRIFIED
  • Continue to persevere and move forward despite their fears and the appearance of obstacles (which oftentimes are just the out picturing of their fears)
  • Love themselves enough to recognize that life is not a dress rehearsal and that if they don’t Go For It Now–they know they will end up living with regret and the “What if I would have done it?” question. (What I hear over and over from my clients who do “Go for it” is “Why didn’t I do it sooner–this is SO much fun”.)
  • Sell all of the things in your home and move across the country within a month (Colleen my assistant did this)
  • Surround themselves with the love and support of a Mentor who has traveled the path and a tribe of like-minded people who are stepping into their beautiful dreams too.
  • Trust that as they step forward into their Dreams–the Universe steps forward too with lots of Support (and they know they won’t feel it UNTIL they take action first).

Ask yourself—what am I REALLY willing to do to step into my dreams? Get the support you need to do what it takes to reach your dreams. I can assure you that it will be well worth it and like my clients you will be able to experience the magic that ONLY happens when you take the leap and GO FOR IT!

I really appreciate you sharing your journey, what an inspiration! When people are ready to step forward into their dreams and take those first few steps, it is quite amazing how the way opens up, isn’t it? Great post!

Identifying your dream and passion is the first step, but nothing happens until we have a plan in place and take the necessary steps! Great article!

When we take the time to know our real dreams and get focused on them we are able to takes small steps every day and turn them into our dream. Set goals so that we have stepping stones that will get us to our dream !

That is a great question to ask yourself if you are looking to go ‘big’ so to speak. “What am I really willing to do to step into my dream?”
If you are too comfortable to move, sell things, etc, than you may just be wasting your time. Sometimes what appears a sacrifice is more an opportunity if we get the ego out of the way!

There’s nothing like stepping out of your comfort zone and intentionally doing the action steps that are necessary to go after a dream. Amazing that only about 5-10% of the total population are considered positive and about that many go for their dreams!

People don’t know what it truly means to step out of your comfort zone until it’s time to do it to pursue your dreams. Great post Shelley.

Wonderful post! I really liked when you wrote, “Trust that as they step forward into their Dreams–the Universe steps forward too with lots of Support (and they know they won’t feel it UNTIL they take action first.)”

This is my first time on your site and what a wonderful post. Going after your dreams is very scary. The examples of what people actually did tells volumes.

Taking big risks is really terrifying, but as long as we have a goal and are sure about what we want, it’s worth pursuing.
