Video Tips for Holistic Practitioners

Finance concept: Video Marketing on Credit Card background

One of the most powerful things you can do to accelerate the growth of your Holistic Practice is to use Videos.  People are more apt to watch a Video than read text.  People need to feel a connection with you and trust you before they will reach out to work with you. Videos speed up this process and allow you to quickly build a connection with your potential clients.

I use Video a lot in the Global Association of Holistic Psychotherapy and Coaching.  One of the most common things I hear from clients I talk to that are signing up for one of our Programs is “I feel like I know you already, I have been watching all of your Videos!”

Here are some tips to get started using Video in your Holistic Practice today.

Tip #1. Use Video on your Home page.  This is a great way for people to quickly get a feel for you.  Your Ideal Clients will be very responsive to your energy.  Also the Video is a great way to encourage them to sign up for the Free Report or Audio on your website so you can continue to get to know them through your email newsletter.

Tip #2. Invest in a good Video Camera and equipment.  I recommend the Kodak Zi8.  Kodak is no longer making this camera but there are still some you can get that are used. Or, if you have an iPhone 5 or newer that is another option for filming Video.

Tip #3. Lighting is the key to good Videos. With good lighting you will look warm and inviting, with bad lighting you can look really bad (I hate to say it, but it is true—the most beautiful person can look awful with bad lighting).  I love using natural light for my Videos.  I have a room in my home that gets great light throughout the day.  I check the weather and look for a sunny day and that is the day I shoot Video 🙂  If you are unable to get natural light, the other option is to use utility lights from the hardware store.  You may need to test different lights to see what works the best for you.

Tip #4. Do Tip Videos.  People love short Videos where you share a tip or some way to improve their lives.  You get to share your expertise and it gives a wonderful opportunity for people to build a connection with you.

Tip #5. Keep Your Videos Short.  People have VERY short attention spans so try to keep your Videos to 1-2 minutes.  I know that is super hard to do!  If your Video is longer, you need to be VERY dynamic and high energy to keep peoples attention.  Sometimes using a prop to illustrate your point can help hold people’s attention too.  The Video on your Home page can be a bit longer (2-3 minutes), but again keep in mind that you must be dynamic to hold peoples attention.

Tip #6. Do Training Videos.  I really love to do Training Videos to launch a Program we are giving.  These Training Videos can be around 8-10 minutes and I usually do two in a Series.  This is where I am teaching something specific and I use a flip chart for the prop to hold peoples attention.  The focus of these Videos is to give valuable information as well as to announce an upcoming Program that people can sign up for.

I would love to hear which of these Video Tips you are going to implement 🙂
